We have been so very excited to do our Tim Holtz Folio Project.
There have been delays.
There have been hiccups.
There have been frantic phone calls but...
On July 12th we are
Gettin' Inky!
To be absolutely honest this workshop is completely sold out. I really did think twice about putting up this post but I wanted to let those of you who cannot be in class know how wonderful these products are.
We start with the remarkable Folio by Tim Holtz. This product is so much fun to work with and so easy to use. I can think of at least another dozen or more projects to do with this.
For this project we also used the beautiful Wallflower Paper Stash by Tim Holtz. I love this paper so much I have used it over and over. You should see the Folded and Bound book created with this paper. It is at the shop and you can stop by anytime to see it.
We do carry both these products at Girlfriends and of course our many samples will give you inspiration to help.
Upon opening your folio you will have loads of flaps, tags, pockets and more. We have used a variety of materials for this including burlap, paper, corrugate, walnut stained tags and more. As you are creating your own folio try not to limit yourself to one material or another....expand your horizons and try something new.
In order to keep our colors flowing thoughout the folio we used Distress Stains by Tim Holtz, Distress Ink Pads by Tim Holtz and Distress Markers by Tim Holtz. We used these products in worn lipstick, broken china, peeled paint, wild honey, vintage photo and walnut stain. If you are lucky enough to be in this workshop please bring your inks, stains and pens with you. I will bring my supply to share but I do not want you to rely upon me to provide them for you. This is particularly true of the stains and ink pads.
We will also be stamping. We will be using a variety of stamps from Stampers Anonymous featured artists Tim Holtz and Wendy Vecchi. If you have a black Archival Ink pad please bring it.
We are using loads of vintage seam binding. If you have it use it! We are going to do some staining and inking...I recommend this highly!
Paper is cheap! There I have said it...use it...fold it....tear it...crush it...ink it...stain it...stamp it. Paper is cheap...experiment with it!
Add the marvelous Industrial Stickers by Tim Holtz or any other sticker you like. Add lace. Add paper roses you make from your paper! Add and add and add until you have it exactly right then add the most important things of all....
your priceless pictures,
your memories,
your thoughts,
all the things that will make this irreplaceable.
